Overview:

The Public Utilities Department operates and maintains the Town’s:

  • 121 miles of gravity sewer and 4 miles of force main in the sanitary sewer collection system
  • 125 miles of the water distribution system
  • 6 sewer lift stations
  • 7 water storage tanks
  • 9 water booster pump stations
  • Jimmy Smith Waste Water Treatment Facility
  • Ricky L. Miller Water Treatment Facility

Public Utilities is also responsible for installing water and sewer services, repairing water and sewer leaks, reading water meters, citywide fire hydrants, and replacing deteriorated water and sewer mains. State-of-the-art equipment, certified laboratory technicians, and trained/certified personnel make it possible for the Town of Boone to provide quality drinking water and exceptional service to nearly 14,000 customers daily.
