A witness
leaving work 12/29/2008 observed a white male on the side of Trailway
Cleaners drawing on the building around 13:00 hours with a blue marker. The
suspect left the scene on foot, towards West King Street. The witness managed
to take the suspects photo, however the photo is blurry. The Boone Police
Department hopes someone will be able to recognize the suspect and call
crimestoppers.
~~~~~~ Sometime during
the Watauga School System Christmas break, someone broke into the high
school. Once inside four classrooms were entered and items such as computers,
digital cameras, a flat screen television and a flight simulator were taken. ~~~~~~ Sometime
between 11-01-2008 at 3:00 P.M. and 12-21-2008 at 3:30 P.M. a olive colored
1991 Haulrite trailer was taken from a residence located on Watauga River
Road. The trailer is 32 feet long and
is a double axle. ~~~~~~ On December 22,
2008, a residence located on Green Briar Road in Boone was entered by unknown
suspect(s) and a Purple IPod Shuffle and a Nikon Cool Pix Digital Camera was
taken from the residence. ~~~~~~ Sometime
between the dates of January 1, 2009 and January 3, 2009 a residence located
on Old Eastridge Road in Boone was entered by unknown suspect(s). Damage was
done to the exterior and windows of the residence. ~~~~~~ On January 2,
2009, a residence located on Bluebonnet Drive in Boone was entered by unknown
suspect(s). A Playstation video game and a Rusty Wallace Nascar lamp was
taken from the residence. ~~~~~~ On January 3,
2009, a residence located on Old Highway 421 North was shot and damaged by
unknown suspect(s) shooting the residence with a paintball gun. ~~~~~~ Sometime
between the dates of January 2, 2009 and January 3, 2009 unknown suspect(s)
entered the Boone Church of Christ located on Coolwoods Drive.Various items
were taken from the church including cash, and a Dell Laptop Computer. ~~~~~~ Sometime during
the night of December 23, 2008 a suspect(s) tried to gain entry into a Dr.
Pepper vending machine outside of Hayes Tire located off of Old 421 South.
Nothing was taken during the event but there was substantial damage to the
machine. Release Date: 12/31/08
On December 21,
2008, a 1994 Buick Park Avenue was reported missing from a residence located on
New River Heights Road. The 1994 Buick Park Avenue was recovered in the
Triplett area of Watauga County on December 23, 2008. On December 30, 2008, a
1951 Chevrolet Truck was reported missing from a residence located on New
River Heights Road. The 1951 Chevrolet Truck was recovered on Charlie Hollars
Road in Boone on December 30, 2008. On December 30, 2008, a residence located
on New River Hills Road was entered and a 2009 Honda Civic was entered,
looked through and an attempt was made to remove the vehicle from the
residence. ~~~~~~ Watauga County
Sheriff's Office is seeking assistance in locating the person(s) responsible
for removing oak wood flooring from a residence located on Silverstone Road. Release Date: 12/22/08
Sometime during
the dates of December 17th and 18th, someone damaged a door on a
Mobile Home off of Andy Hicks Road. ~~~~~~ During the night of December 20, 2008 a suspect(s) took a vehicle from New River Heights in Boone. The vehicle is a 1994 model, Gold Buick 4 door. Release Date: 12/18/08
During the
evening of December 6, 2008 someone damaged multiple vehicles sitting on the
side of 105 South in Boone. ~~~~~~ Sometime during the day on Tuesday December 16 between 6:40am and
4:00pm someone kicked in a door to a residence on Hopewell Church Road and
took knives, coins/change and jewelry. Release Date: 12/17/08
A vehicle was
vandalized on Russell Beach Road in the Vilas community sometime Sunday
night/early Monday morning December 14/15th.
The rear glass was shattered. ~~~~~~ Sometime during the afternoon on Tuesday, November 25th (the
Tuesday before Thanksgiving) a Watauga County resident on Knoll Drive in the
Chapel Hills community near Browns Chapel Road had a package taken that a
letter carrier had delivered and left at the residence. The carrier stated that he thought that a
teal colored Mazda Miata was following him the day he delivered the
package. Records show the package was
left at 12:19 pm on 11/25/2008 and the resident never saw or received the
package. ~~~~~~ Sometime
between 12-09-2008 at 3:00 P.M. and 12-16-2008 at 9:00 A.M. Multiple tools,
consisting of mainly Klien brand, were stolen from a business located at 7698
Old Hwy 421 South, Deep Gap. ~~~~~~ Sometime between 12-15-2008 at 5:15 P.M. and 12-16-2008 at 7:30 A.M. Hayes Tire Service located at Old Hwy 421 South, Boone was broken into. Items consisting of eight Interstate 12 volt batteries, a large 2.5 ton bottle jack, two Florida Pneumatics air wrenches, a one inch drive wrench, two torque wrenches, two sets of CS4 P195/60R15 Cooper tires, sockets, security camera and receiver, and a key belonging to a business vehicle were taken. On December 15,
2008, unknown suspects broke into and damaged a vehicle located on Sugarloaf
Road. The unknown suspects were possibly driving a gray late 80's model
pickup truck. ~~~~~~ Sometime
between the dates of December 13, 2008 and December 15, 2008, an unknown
suspect(s) threw rocks at the stain glass windows of Cool Springs Baptist
Church located on Payne Branch Road causing damage to the windows. ~~~~~~ On December 15, 2008, unknown suspect(s) broke into a vehicle located on Laurel Reach in Boone. Various items were taken from the vehicle including blank checks, a satellite radio and various prescription medications. Release Date: 12/12/08
At
approximately 8:15 p.m. on Thursday December 11 an intentional fire was set
at the rear of the Miller and Johnson law firm located at 766 West King Street
in Boone. The fire was quickly
extinguished by the Boone Fire Department and damage was limited to the doors
and exterior of the building. Release Date: 12/11/08
On Sunday, December 07, 2008 a 2005 Komatsu Track Hoe was taken from Sugar Mountain. The 2005 Komatsu Track Hoe was possibly seen being driven on Highway 105 through Watauga County at approximately 9:15 PM to 9:30 PM on Sunday, December 07, 2008 by a White truck with a trailer. ~~~~~~ On November 29, 2008 between the times of 7:00pm and 8:15pm. A suspect(s) broke into a residence on Bolder Gardens Road. Nothing was taken during the B&E but the suspect(s) disturbed multiple items in the house. Release Date: 12/10/08
Between the
dates of December 6, and December 9, 2008 someone broke into a storage unit
on H Stanley Miller Road. The suspect left with two firearms and a nail gun. ~~~~~~ At approximately 8 PM on Tuesday evening a strong armed robbery
occurred in the parking lot of New Market Centre closest to Lowe’s Food and
High Country Bank. The victim reports that as she was putting groceries in
her truck that the suspect ran over to her, grabbed her purse and ran towards
Highway 194. The victim sustained minor injuries during the attack. The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 170 pounds, early 30’s. He was wearing a white hooded sweatshirt and jeans. There were no weapons present. Release Date: 12/09/08
On December 6,
2008 between the times of 8 and 9am. Someone took a chainsaw from the side of
the road on Green Briar Lane in Boone. ~~~~~~ Between the dates of December 7th around 3pm and December 8th, before 9:30am. A suspect(s) broke into multiple storage units at a business around the 5000 block of Hwy 105 South. At this time the only thing thought to be missing is a Miter Saw. Release Date: 12/05/08
On December 3,
2008 between 7:00 pm and 8:40 pm, someone entered a vehicle in the PVA of
Laurel Springs Baptist Church. The subject(s) then took a cell phone and a
reciprocal saw out of the vehicle and left the area. ~~~~~~ Sometime between the
dates of November 24, and December 4, 2008. A suspect(s) drove onto a
construction at the end of Patton Ridge Lane. The suspect(s) then took a
cement mixer and five bags of mortar off the site.

Sometime between the dates of November 29, and December 1, a person(s) damaged two pieces of heavy equipment around the 4000 block of Hwy 105 South. ~~~~~~ On Wednesday November 19, 2008 a break-in to a residence located
in the Foscoe community on NC Hwy 105 South near the Smoke Tree Lodge was
reported. The victim left town for
the Thanksgiving holiday on Friday November 21, 2008 and when he returned on
Tuesday December 2, 2008 someone had taken his yellow 2005 model New Holland
Skidsteer valued at $28,000. A Skid
Steer is like a small bulldozer with 4 wheels instead of tracks and I have
attached a photograph of what they look like (the Skid Steer in the photograph
is not the one stolen.)
~~~~~~ At
approximately 4 AM in the morning of Wednesday December 3rd, 2008 someone forced entry into
the Boone Drug on Deerfield Road.
Shortly thereafter the Boone Drug at New Market Center was also broken
into. In both cases, completed or
filled prescription medications had been stolen.

2008, mailboxes were damaged on Rainbow Trail and Disney Drive in Boone. Release Date: 11/26/08
Sometime
between the dates of November 21, 2008 and the evening of November 22, 2008 a
suspect(s) went to Caldwell Community College (Watauga Campus) and took a
large amount of fuel out of an underground fuel tank. ~~~~~~ On the date of November 25, 2008 between 3 and 7 PM.A suspect(s) forced entry into a residence on Mallard Lane. The suspect(s) took a flat screen TV, play station, Xbox, laptop, and other small items. ~~~~~~ On November 21,
2008 around 8:30 AM a vehicle hit two parked vehicles near intersection of
Landfill Drive and fled the scene. Release Date: 11/25/08
Sometime
between October 27th,
2008 and November 1st,
2008 someone entered into a locked trailer behind the “Auto Nut” on the NC
Highway 105 Extension and took a Honda generator, air compressor and various
hand tools. Release Date: 11/19/08
Sometime last weekend between Friday, November 14th and Monday,
November 17th a storage shed located in the Todd community on Big Hill Road
was broken into. The storage shed
belongs to Wahoo's Whitewater Rafting and 2 kayaks and 8 innertubes valued at
nearly $1,000 were taken. The
innertubes were clear colored and had Wahoo's marked on them. One of the stolen kayaks was a one seater,
red in color with "Clear Water Design" and a red maple leaf emblem
on the sides. The other kayak was a
two seater, maroon in color with "Clear Water Design" and a red
maple leaf on the sides. Photographs
of the kayaks and the innertubes are attached. Anyone who knows of any suspects or knows where this property
can be found is urged to contact Crimestoppers.

On 11-12-2008 a Shindiwia chainsaw and a 22 caliber rifle were found missing from a barn located on Wade Moretz road. Release Date: 11/13/08
Sometime during
the day of November 6,2008 a person(s) obtained red spray paint and spray
painted trash cans and a residence on Linville Creek Road. ~~~~~~ Sometime between the dates of November 7 and November 11 a suspect(s) broke into a Coke machine at Radford Quarries. The Suspect(s) left with an unknown amount of change. Release Date: 11/12/08
Sometime between Saturday evening November 8th and Monday morning
November 10th the office at the Radford Quarry located at 5605 Bamboo Road,
Boone, NC was broken into and property was taken. ~~~~~~ Sometime
between November 9, 2008 at 7:00 PM and November 10, 2008 at 6:00 PM. A
suspect(s) entered a farm around the 1300 block of Brownwood Road. The
suspect(s) then broke into two storage trailers. The Suspect(s) then left the
area with an aluminum tool- box and other tools. Release Date: 11/07/08
On November 6, 2008 between the times of 7:00 AM and 1:30 PM a suspect or suspects broke into a building around the 2000 block of Deer Field Rd. the suspect left with numerous power, and hand tools. Release Date: 11/06/08
Sometime after
6:30 PM on November 4, 2008 and before 6:30 AM November 5, 2008. A suspect or
suspects entered a building at Aho Solid Waste Collection Site off of Hwy321
and took various small items. ~~~~~~ Sometime
between the dates of October 4, 2008 and October 27, 2008 a suspect or
suspects entered an unoccupied residence on Oliver Hill Road. The Suspect or
suspects then took two Smith & Wesson pistols and left the residence. ~~~~~~ Sometime during
the evening hours of October 2, 2008 a suspect or suspects broke into a vehicle
on Corbet Mcneil Rd. the suspects damaged the vehicle but did not take
anything. Release Date: 11/05/08
On the
afternoon of Thursday October 30th, 2008 a 2008 GMC Sierra Duramax
truck was stolen from the parking lot at Boone Mall. The truck is black and has after-market
side rails, bed liner and vent visors added.
There is also a red, white and blue “Shadow Racing Chassis” sticker in

That truck was
recovered in Carter County, TN that night, having been found at the bottom of
Watauga Lake. The case is still under
investigation by the Boone Police Department. Release Date: 11/04/08
Sometime
between the dates of Aug. 22 and Sept. 9, a suspect or suspects broke into a
residence on Norman Road and took numerous power tools. ~~~~~~ Sometime
between 10-09-2008 at 2:00 p.m. and 10-11-2008 at 9:00 a.m. multiple items
including 4 vintage aluminum wheels - Ford, and 10 aluminum alloy rally
wheels were taken from a residence located on Joe Greer Road. ~~~~~~ Sometime last week between Monday October 27 and Friday October 31 someone entered a residence on Isaacs Rd. located above Cove Creek School on Vanderpool Road and took two pistols, ammunition and some jewelry. Release Date: 11/03/08
Sometime between the dates of October 31, 2008 and November 1, 2008 Tabernacle Baptist Church was damaged by an unknown suspect(s) spray painting "4:20" on the side of the church. Release Date: 10/31/08
Sometime between Tuesday night October 28th and Wednesday morning
October 29th someone stole a camouflage Ameristep Doghouse Ground Blind Stand
from a residence located near the intersection of Deck Hill Road and Payne
Branch Road. A Doghouse Blind Stand
is essentially a tent used by hunters.
~~~~~~ Sometime during
the early morning hours of Friday October 31, unknown persons broke into the
Carefree Property, LLC offices on Highway 421 across from Industrial Park
Drive. Two buildings were broken into
and computers, money, and other documents were taken. ~~~~~~ Sometime from
the evening of Saturday October 25 till Sunday afternoon on October 26th, 2008 several vehicles had been
broken into and additional cars damaged at Mountaineer Village on Yosef
Drive. Items taken include personal
items such as a laptop computer and an Apple I-Pod. ~~~~~~ On Wednesday,
October 29th an employee
with Sears and Roebuck located at 468 New Market Blvd., reported that one of
their company vehicles was forcibly entered and items were removed. The
vehicle was a service van that contained a Craftsman dual tank air compressor
and a generator with gas tank. These items were reported stolen and were
valued at around $1,450.00. Entry was made into the vehicle by damaging two
of the vehicles’ windows. The Sears employee reported that he believed the
incident happened the night before. Release Date: 10/29/08
Sometime during
last weekend between Friday October 24th and Tuesday October 28th someone
broke into a tool shed located on Howards Creek Road near the intersection
with NC Hwy 194 N. A reciprocating
saw and pneumatic nail gun were taken. Release Date: 10/28/08
Sometime during the day of October 09,
2008 at around 3:00 PM a white male entered a vehicle at Riverview Grocery and
took a wallet containing cash, Drivers License, and credit cards. The suspect
then left the area on foot. ~~~~~~ Sometime during the day of October 17, 2008 an unknown suspect or suspects forced entry into a residence on Liberty Hill Road. Nothing was taken in the process but the suspects are wanted for breaking and entering. ~~~~~~ Sometime in the early morning hours of October 27, 2008 a suspect or suspects broke into a vehicle at a residence on Sampson Road. The offenders took a lever action rifle with scope out of the vehicle and a propane tank from the porch of the residence. Release Date: 10/27/08
Sometime during the night of October 26, 2008 an unknown subject of subjects broke into a vehicle on Meat Camp road. The suspect or suspects left with a Satellite Radio, Game Boy, Digital Camera, and other personal belongings. Release Date: 10/23/08
On October 22,
2008, a vehicle parked at Bibleway Baptist Church was broken into and items
were taken from the vehicle. Release Date: 10/20/08
On Friday night October 17th, 2008 at
approximately 11pm a resident at 139 Howards Creek Road interrupted someone
attempting to steal his kerosene heating fuel from the tank outside his
residence. The individual fled on
foot. If anyone has any information
on the identity of this individual please contact Crimestoppers. As the price of heating fuel rises, there
is often an unfortunate rise in crimes like this. If you see anyone suspicious tampering with yours or a
neighbors fuel tank, report it to your local law enforcement agency. Also talk to your heating fuel provider
and ask them if they have lids that you can padlock shut for additional

On October 13,
2008 an unknown subject(s) damaged property located at Sampson Road and
Tanawha Parkway by breaking glass window panes with beer cans. Release Date: 10/08/08
Sometime between the dates of 09/28/2008 and 09/29/2008, someone entered a residence on BH Duncan Road and took two firearms from the residence. ~~~~~~ Sometime
between the dates of 10/01/2008 and 10/03/2008 there were two pieces of farm
equipment taken from a lot off of 321 North. The equipment consists of 1
cultivator, and 1 hay carrier. Release Date: 10/06/08
Sometime
between the dates of October 4, 2008 and October 5, 2008 at 7:00 PM, someone
entered a residence on Devonwood Drive and took numerous items consisting of
several paintings, two mantel clocks, and a golf set. Release Date: 10/02/08
On Sunday,
September 14, 2008, a residence on Poplar Hill Drive was vandalized. The
residence had numerous eggs thrown at vehicles and the residence. Also, on
September 21, 2008, the same residence was vandalized. On this occasion, this
residence was vandalized with paint balls. The suspect used orange-red paint balls,
and striking various parts of the residence. Release Date: 9/16/08
Sometime early last week
on September 8th or 9th at dusk (approximately 9pm) a home was broken into on
Maggies Lane, Boone, NC. Maggies Ln.
is located off N. Pine Run Road. A
white 1986 Ford pickup with NC tag # XYC2255 was taken along with some long
guns, yard equipment and an A/C unit.
~~~~~~ On Saturday evening
September 13, 2008 sometime between 8 and 8:30pm an unknown suspect broke
into a white Nissan Pathfinder parked on the side of Guy Ford Road near the
bridge in the Sugar Grove community.

On Tuesday
September 9, a man entered two Kangaroo Express convenience stores in Boone
and tricked the clerks away from the register areas. He then went behind the counters and stole
items from the clerks’ purses. The suspect is
a white male of average height and slim build, with short brown hair and a
short brown beard with moustache. He
was wearing a white short, sleeved button down shirt, white shorts, and dark
colored work boots. He was seen
driving a white Ford Taurus bearing a North Carolina temporary tag.
