The Program follows the guidelines set forth in the Town of Boone’s Code of Ordinances: General Regulations Section Chapter 91 entitled “Community Improvement”. A Community Improvement Officer is available to answer your questions and concerns about the code.

The Community Improvement Code addresses the following:

Adopt A StreetADOPT-A-STREET PROGRAM
By participating in the Adopt-A-Street program, you can make a valuable contribution to the town... you can help make the Town of Boone better and more beautiful. You can also save money since removing litter is an expensive proposition for you and other taxpaying Boone citizens. The Town of Boone Public Works Department alone spends $20,000 annually to clean streets.

To adopt a street, your group or business agrees to pick up litter for a year along a section of street or road. In return, the department will also make some commitments. To sign up, just call us at (828) 262-4560

To make sure everyone has a clear understanding of the program, guidelines and responsibilities are listed below. Please remember that a public street can be dangerous if proper safety precautions are not followed. Safety is our first consideration and it must be yours as well. We will work with participants to do all we can to make your experience safe and beneficial.
